Social housing flat roofing services for Ealing Council

Acclaim Contracts, carried out extensive social housing flat roofing services at Rolland House.  A five storey block, it provides tenanted and leasehold accommodation for Ealing residents. The works included the erection of a scaffold temporary roof to enclose the entire roof area and higher level tank and plant room rooms. The existing roof covering materials were removed together with the timber deck and purlins constructed over the original concrete roof deck to create a fall for rainwater run-off. A new vapour control layer and a cut-to-falls insulation system was installed together with an underlayer (over the insulation) and a mineral cap sheet. New free-standing safety handrails were installed together with an upgraded lightning protection system.

Visits to residents to undertake condition surveys were used to explain the scope of the works, durations and the nature of the disruptive works likely to impact them as top floor residents. A general letter detailing information about the works was posted to all residents and this included details of the Site Managers name and contact details in the event of any issues or concerns. The works were completed on time and snag free. During the handover meeting, Ealing Council complimented the Acclaim Contracts Team on their professionally delivered social housing flat roofing services. There were no health and safety accidents or incidents.
