Mildmay Junior School Details
This flat roofing project included the strip-up and partial re-deck of various flat roof areas followed by the installation of a new bitumen roof felt system including insulation. Associated works included the renewal of rooflights, windows, fascias and rainwater goods. The schools summer holiday period was used to focus efforts on the kitchen roof where extractor and air handling units needed to be decommissioned and raised to allow the flat roofing contractors work to progress. The summer holiday period was also used to work on roof areas with asbestos soffits to avoid any risk to pupils and staff. These areas were stripped of their existing coverings and completed up to the underlayer stage before the pupils and staff returned for the new school year in September.
