NHS Flat Roofing Services renewal project
NHS Flat Roofing Services, Acclaim Roofing Contracts Ltd carried out an extensive 5 week renewal project. Our works involved the provision of access scaffolding and roof edge protection. This included the erection of a high-level scaffold walkway to link the scaffold access tower at the front of the building to the flat roof area by bridging over the tiled section of the roof.
The scaffolding was followed by the strip-up of the existing asphalt roof coverings prior to over-decking with new 18mm ply board. A new Langley roofing system was then installed comprising of a vapour control layer, insulation, underlayer and cap sheet. Associated works included the installation of a new roof access hatch.
Areas were only stripped if the same area could be made water-tight in the same working day. Langley undertook regular quality control inspections throughout the works and issued a 20 year insurance-backed guarantee on completion. Flat Roofing Services for the NHS works were completed on time and within budget with the building remaining fully operational.
